Alles wat je moet weten als supporter
Bereikbaarheid controleposten

Everything you need to know as a supporter
Accessibility of checkpoints
Supporting along the way is fantastic, but we notice that many people want to park as close to the checkpoints as possible. Understandable, but often pointless: the streets around checkpoints are temporarily closed to traffic.
That is why we provide dedicated supporter parking:

- Follow the signage on site.
- Respect the parking and traffic rules.
- Check in advance where the supporter parking areas are located.
By walking a short distance from the parking, you not only show respect for the organisation, but also contribute to the smooth running of the march.
We will provide a detour for supporting walkers and cyclists near the checkpoints.
Accessibility of Bornem town centre
In Bornem itself we also provide clearly marked parking areas for visitors and supporters. We strongly request that you:
- Do not park randomly in the town centre.
- Follow traffic signs, barriers and the instructions of police, stewards and marshals.
- Do not block private property, footpaths or cycle paths.
Cycling on the route
We understand that you want to stay close to your participant, but we strongly request that you cycle as little as possible on the route. It causes:
- Dangerous situations.
- Inconvenience for other walkers.
- Reduced traffic flow, especially on narrow sections.
You can arrange in advance where you will meet your participant again, near a checkpoint or along the route.
Checkpoints exclusively for participants
To give everyone the rest and space they deserve, the checkpoints are only accessible to walkers. As a supporter:
- You have no access to the supplies.
- The chairs, benches and medical points are exclusively for participants.
- We ask you to give priority to walkers who genuinely need to rest or receive care.
Supporting can be done perfectly outside the checkpoints: with applause, a banner or a word of encouragement at the right moment.
We will provide a detour for supporting walkers and cyclists near the checkpoints.
Supporters create atmosphere
As a supporter you are worth your weight in gold. That one word of encouragement at kilometre 83, that sign at a difficult spot, that smile in the middle of the night — they make a world of difference.
So keep supporting, keep motivating — but do it with respect for the march, the walkers, the volunteers and the surroundings. Together we'll make it another unforgettable edition!
