Service Department

Are you the volunteer we are looking for?

The Service Department makes every possible effort to provide services to the hiker. They are responsible for the checkpoints on the route. These checkpoints provide hikers with provisions (food and drinks), are used to register the splits, and host the Red Cross to offer first aid. Hikers that want to quit can make use of the support vehicles that return the hikers to the Bornem city centre.

The Service Department offers hikers the opportunity to have their luggage brought to the 50 km checkpoint to ensure they do not need to drag a heavy backpack around.

The Service Department also manages a fleet of over a hundred vehicles during the Dodentocht (passenger vehicles, buses, trucks, garbage trucks) to make sure all these logistics services take place smoothly.

The EEP team of the Service Department makes sure that the waste on the route and within a radius of one kilometre around the checkpoints is cleaned up.
